Shiv Sena Approaches Supreme Court After Governor Denies More Time To Claim Power

The Shiv Sena approached the Supreme Court today after reports that the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi recommended the rule of President for Maharashtra, where no government was formed nearly 20 days after the results of the assembly elections.Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari yesterday invited the Nationalist Congress Party of Sharad Pawar to stake claims for government creation, refusing to accept the Sena's demand for a 48-hour government extension. The Sena said in its request, while the governor gave the BJP 48 hours to suggest if it could form government, he gave them just 24 hours to get the letters of support from Congress and the NCP.
