Kolkata: Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar of Bengal, who is involved with chief minister Mamata Banerjee in a power tussle, claimed on Thursday that he had been stopped from entering the state assembly. Later he entered the Assembly premises through Gate no 4, meant for media persons and officials. Dhankhar said gate no. 3, which was intended for the entrance and exit of the governor, was closed in spite of his prior intimation."Why is the No 3 gate closed? The gate is shut following my previous intimation. The adjournment of the assembly does not mean that it is closed. "Being locked the governor's gate has shamed our democratic history," the governor said to reporters later.
