Mumbai: The South Indian Education Society (SIES) which is one of the leading educational institutions in  Mumbai, has distributed more than 2.5 Lakh masks to the frontline COVID warriors, through Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and was handed over to the Commissioner Abhijit Bangar. The  SIES made these masks through its Graduate School of Engineering’s Beacon Project, which employs economically challenged women in the Nerul-Vashi area.

The SIES had also handed over through its School of Packaging,  100 corrugated recyclable beds to the NMMC COVID Care Centre at Panvel and also distributed Sanitary Napkin Pads to needy women in the Nerul-Vashi area.

The SIES as part of its  Institutional Social Responsibility projects has a sustained outreach programme through its various educational institutions and is actively involved in developing and sustaining different village-based schools like the Ghotegar Adivasi Seva Mandal’s Ashramshala & Khairpada Digital Primary School in Shahpur Taluka in Maharashtra and also the Kawthewadi Village transformation project near Karjat, Maharashtra. All ISR projects of SIES involve the students of its various institutions, which ensures that the city-bred students during their educational stint develop an empathetical attitude towards the disadvantaged sections of our society.
