New Delhi Central Authority: On Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) announced a cooperation with global retail chain LuLu Group International (LLC).

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked, LuLu Group will feature a diverse choice of certified Indian organic products in its stores throughout the United Arab Emirates.

On Thursday, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced a partnership with the worldwide retail chain LuLu Group International (LLC).

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed, LuLu Group will provide a varied range of certified Indian organic products at its stores across the UAE.

“This will ensure that Indian organic products reach a wider global audience,” said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

In addition, LuLu Hypermarkets will set aside shelf space for Indian organic items certified by the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP).

To increase the country’s organic exports, the organisation will conduct promotional initiatives such as product sampling, interactive events, customer feedback drives, buyer-seller meetings (BSM), B2B meetings, and trade fairs.

It will also raise awareness about the benefits of Indian organic products and provide Indian FPOs/FPCs/Cooperatives with exposure to LuLu Group’s infrastructure in the UAE to improve their understanding of foreign retail markets.

“This partnership is expected to significantly expand the global reach of Indian organic products and contribute to the growth of organic farming in India by creating stronger linkages between Indian producers and global consumers,” the Ministry said.

The Ministry further stated that APEDA encourages the export of scheduled agricultural and processed food items from India.

It also functions as the Secretariat for the National Programme for Organic Production (NPOP), which governs organic exports from India.

APEDA is focused to promote Indian agricultural and processed food exports.

The agency organises B2B shows in various countries, explores new prospective markets, and collaborates closely with Indian embassies to promote natural, organic, and Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged agricultural products.
