Munnar is a small town in the mountain range of the Western Ghats in the state of Kerala. It is a hill station that is surrounded by rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the late 19th century. This hill station enjoys a favorable and pleasant climate all year round

Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. The word 'Munnar' means three rivers in Malayalam, situated about 1600m above sea level, the hill station had been the summer resort of the British Government during the colonial era.

The weather in this hill station is moderate throughout the year. The average maximum temperature recorded during the day time is around 20-degree Celsius and during the night it can vary to 10-degree Celsius. The weather here is mild during the summer, cool during the winter, pleasant and moderate during monsoon.

Munnar is famous for its luscious green hills, along with the vast tea plantation sites. They also have Eravikulam National Park, a habitat for the endangered mountain goat- Nilgiri tahr. They also have the Lakkam Waterfalls, hiking trails, and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak.

The famous food that one should try during their trip to this hill station include- idiyappam with egg curry: also known as noolappam, idiyappam is made of rice flour, salt, and water; puttu and kadala curry; appam with stew; Kerala prawn curry; spicy chicken fry; Kairali thali, last but not the least, Kerala style beef fry.

All in all, it can be said that this hill station is a must-visit one for those wanting to enjoy nature. The environment and the climate are calm and pleasant which will relax the mind and take away all the stress. It is a good destination to come to with friends or family, spend quality time with them, and have fun.
