Leading automobile manufacturer Maruti has sold over one lakh units of its Ignis ever since its launch and has occupied a space of its own in the premium hatchback segment. The company today, at Auto Expo 2020 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, launched an updated BS VI variant of Ignis.

Launching the vehicle at the Auto Expo, Kenichi Ayukawa, MD and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Customers are increasingly opting for feature-loaded cars with SUV type high-seating position and dominant road presence. We are confident that the new Ignis with its SUV design and spacious interiors will strike a chord with customers.”

Innovative in its design, the newly launched Ignis is sporting an SUV design with front fascia, wider rear appearance and higher seating position. The vehicle also sports striking rear spoiler and roof rails making its SUV characteristic more visible. The engine of the car is BS VI compliant, powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine for a smooth and comfortable driving space.

Available in two new colour options, the Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue, the new Ignis comes with a new front grille with a U-shaped motif and the bold skid plate detailing on bumper, giving it a stable stance. The car’s other features such as LED projector headlamps and stylish DRLs further accentuate its style quotient. For infotainment lovers the vehicle has an inbuilt 17.78 cm SmartPlay studio. The infotainment system can be connected to cloud and offers features like live traffic, voice recognition, driver safety alerts and vehicle information, etc. which are vital for the driver and passengers.

Organized by Automobile Component Manufacturers Association, Confederation of Indian Industry and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, the Auto Expo, in its 15th edition is being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 6 February to 9 February 2020. The expo and the new launch is coming at a critical juncture given the slowdown that auto sector has been going through perhaps in the last one year.
