Bhopal: Under Instructions Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh has launched a massive and impressive operation. In just two days, the state police have identified over 51,000 individuals involved in crimes against women and girls, demonstrating the government’s unwavering commitment to public safety.

Of these, 4,916 accused have already received explicit orders from the police, and 2,469 have been placed under ‘bound over’ action, ensuring swift and decisive action against those involved in criminal activities.

To ‘Bound Over’ is a legal action that can be taken by the police or a court to require someone to appear in court at a specific time and place.

“Incharges of each police station are directed to carry out searches, meet citizens, women and find out those involved in criminal activities against females. They have been asked to take immediate action,” PRO in MP PHQ, Ashish Sharma said.

At the same time, cases registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act are pushed for speedy hearings in the courts.

“Police will not delay producing evidence, witnesses or anything related with the cases filed under the POCSO Act to push for speedy hearing in the courts,” Sharma told IANS.

The initiative was part of the MP Police’s remarkable drive to keep a close watch on those involved in crimes against females, especially those who have a criminal background.

Following an increase in crimes against women over the previous few months in Madhya Pradesh’s rural and urban areas, a decision was made in this regard.

In addition, there have been other incidents of minor girls being raped and killed, which has prompted concerns about Madhya Pradesh’s state of law and order.

Director General of Police (DGP) Sudhir Saxena has issued a resolute directive to all senior police officers in Madhya Pradesh. They are to take swift action against those who commit crimes against women and ensure that they are prosecuted, instilling hope for justice in the hearts of the public.

DGP Sudhir Saxena has instructed the SP to compile a list of those implicated in crimes against women and girls during the last ten years.

During the meeting a couple of days ago, DGP Saxena also directed senior cops, including the Police Commissioners (CP) of Bhopal and Indore, to ensure that all schools in the state adhere to the Supreme Court’s guidelines regarding the safety and security of children.
