NEP 2020 will lay foundation for New India Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Recently the Union Cabinet had given clearance to a New Educational Policy which aims to implement several changes in education system from school to college level.  Delivering the inaugural address at the Conclave on Transformational Reforms in Higher Education under National Educational Policy, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that the New Educational Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) will lay the foundation for a new India and will prepare students for the future with the knowledge that will be needed in 21st century.

The Prime Minister assured his full support for the implementation of NEP 2020. Speaking about the policy, he said, “Under this policy, when today’s students will join tomorrow’s workplaces, it will help India grow and take the lead in many areas.” He added, “The focus will be on understanding the subject, its practical implementation, critical thinking and innovative thinking. When a student is equipped with this, then it helps a great deal in a growing India.”

The policy aims to build international standard institutions across India and prevent brain drain. It also aims to reduce pressure on students for specific streams and allow them to learn according to their interests.
