Breathing in the peak time in Mumbai is equivalent to smoking 5 cigarettes in a day. Yet the most polluted city in India is not Mumbai. It is New Delhi, and smoking Delhi's toxic air is equivalent to smoking 7.7 cigarettes per day (as per HT report in 2019). New Delhi has the worst air quality worldwide.
