Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan urged the Centre to act on the Supreme Court's verdict that directed for the formation of a Cauvery Water Management Board to ensure the right amount of water for South Indian states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Puducherri.
He appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a video message to be serious regarding aiding to the distress of Tamil people.
He tweeted soon after PM Modi arrived in Chennai to avoid any protests planned by the opposition parties and other organisations.
"My name is Kamal Haasan. This is an open video to my honourable Prime Minister", he said.
"You can easily deliver the justice that Tamil Nadu is seeking", Kamal, in a black shirt to mark his protest, tweeted.
Earlier the top court slammed the Centre for not acting on the court's order to form a water management board to settle the dispute between the states in the name of Cauvery.
