The Kathua rape trial where an 8-year-old was brutally gang raped and then murdered will be held in the Pathankot court in Punjab. Victim's parents had earlier appealed to the Supreme court to transfer the trial outside to Jammu and Kashmir for a fair and transparent proceedings.

But the Supreme Court has rejected the parents' plea for a CBI enquiry in the case.

The Supreme Court ensured that the Kathua case trial will be held every day and all the proceedings will be captured in the camera.

An 8-year-old minority girl was abducted on January 10 at Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir. Her body was recovered one week later and it was found in the enquiry that she was murdered after a deep physical assault on her body.
