Vaikunda Ekadasi celebrated in Mumbai

On the occasion of Vaikunda Ekadasi, several temples with Lord Maha Vishnu's idol celebrated the day with religious functions.

 

  This is  one of the important and auspicious days for Hindus and  is dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu. When observed, it bestows liberation from the cycle of birth and death. People observe fast on this day. 

 

Sri South Indian Bhajana Samaj, Matunga conducted Laksharchana at the temple premises following all rules of the government. The Chembur Ahobali Mattham  temple and Sion Bhalaji temple, owned by TTDC, allowed visitors for darshan after opening the sanctum sanctorum door named Swarga Vasal ( Heaven's door) early morning . Sri Shankara Mattham, Matunga also conducted morning pooja with Abhishekams to the idol of Maha Vishnu.
