With Unlock 4.0 announcement and easing of travel restrictions travellers can look to add creativity to their hobbies. For most part of this year since the outbreak of coronavirus almost all of us have stayed home. Many had time to experiment things that they wanted to, some acquired new skills and others immersed themselves in their hobbies. Now with travel restrictions being lifted people can look to add more feathers to their creative instincts.

Leading travel platform Booking.com researched into its data on travellers’ recommendations for food, yoga, art, and photography. The destinations were based on popular activities to curate the top local destinations to visit, bring the hobbies that you recently perfected to life, etc.

Some top endorsed destinations by travellers within India:

Glorious food in Bengaluru, Karnataka: Cooking and baking gained popularity during social distancing in times of corona, learning new recipes on YouTube, and enjoying food from the comforts of your home, made people satisfied. Bengaluru is famous for a range of delicacies such as Mysore Pak, Bisibele Bath, etc. Other popular destinations for food in India include New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Amritsar.

Puducherry and Tamil Nadu: The coastal town of Puducherry was seen as an ideal landscape. Home to pristine beaches the city is exemplary and worth to explore. Puducherry entails the French legacy preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic boutiques. Shimla, Rishikesh, Kodaikanal and Varanasi were also endorsed by travellers for walking in India. Munnar, Madikeri, Ooty, Kodaikanal and Manali were endorsed by travellers for nature walks in India.

Jaipur: The Pink City was a top destination for many and a recommended destination in Booking.com. Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort, Albert Hall Museum and Amber Fort were the major attractions. After Jaipur, Udaipur, Kochi, Kolkata and New Delhi are the top most endorsed destinations in India for art by travellers from India.

Rishikesh, Uttarakhand: The lockdown provided an opportunity for many to look inwards to their own self. Meditation and Yoga gained popularity. Rishikesh, home to many ashrams attract tourists for being a place of detoxification. It is home of Hatha Yoga, Shivananda Yoga, and Vinyasa Yoga and rich with Vedic spiritual history and yogic ashram culture. Varkala, Goa, Varanasi and Kovalam are some of the other top destinations endorsed by Indian travellers to experience and practice yoga.

Himachal Pradesh: The state with its panoramic view is popular among travellers. Kasol was a top destination in Booking.com for hiking. Kasol is the base point for popular treks like the Kheerganga Trek, the Sar Pass Trek, Malana, Tosh and Rasol. Kasol, followed by Manali, Munnar, Rishikesh and McLeod Ganj are some of the other top destinations endorsed by travellers for hiking Ooty, Rishikesh, Lonanavala, Munnar and Leh were endorsed by travellers for mountaineering.
