Barfi bags major top awards at IIFA

Prestigious IIFA, the Oscar of Bollywood witnessed film “Barfi” scooping all top awards in the dashing ceremony held at Macau on Saturday. Bollywood also celebrated 100 years of Indian cinema in this occasionby paying tribute to old and new legends on the stage. 
 
Barfi, a well acclaimed film by critics that went off well with box office won multiple awards in different categories like best male performance in leading role, best director and best film. This is a romantic comedy that portrays the relationship between a deaf and mute man and an autistic girl and succeeded in depicting the emotions of physically challenged people in a beautiful way.  The screenplay was unusual and an exceptionalone that most directors do not dare to experiment with. 
 
Annual turnover of Bollywood film industry is almost double than that of Hollywood movies and Indian films are gaining popularity even in countries like Russia, Germany and China. Sharukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor were hosts of IIFA award ceremony that lasted for four hours, allured by vibrant dance forms by Bollywood divas and was encouraged by around seven thousand enthusiastic audience.
 
Dance numbers by Madhuri Dixit and Deepika Padukone enthralled the audience. Vidya Balan and Boman Irani had shared a dashing moments at green carpet. Ayushmann Khurana, who was nominated for best male actor role in “Vicky Donor” commented that Bollywood narrates story in a musical way and that makes us different from Hollywood style. Barfi won award for best film and Ranbir Kapoor won best actor award. Vidya Balan didn’t find any competitor for best actress award for her performance in Kahani.
 
By 2015, booming film industry of India is estimated to generate approximately $5billion. Macau, famous for its gambling and casino tradition wanted to have a makeover image to widen their customer reach and hence this place was finalised for hosting the event. 
 
Chinese gambling industry always try to lure Indian customers as Indians love longer vacation and holiday period and have a spending tendency on leisure activities rather than within casinos.
