Kangana Ranaut’s film Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi is facing some trouble as a right-wing outfit, Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha has opposed the film for alleged distortion of facts and for alleged scenes in the film portraying a love affair between Rani of Jhansi and a British man despite the makers of the film clarifying that the movie is not a biopic.

Further, the Mahasabha's state president, Suresh Mishra has requested the Rajasthan government to stall the film’s shoot as well and asserted that the film would be only allowed after the film-makers issue a guarantee that no controversial scene would be featured in the movie and also stated that if the state government didn't respond to their demand within three days then they would escalate their agitation for the same.

A letter to producer Kamal Jain has reportedly been sent to share information on the film’s writers and the historians with whom the producers have consulted as well.
