Media Eye News Bureau: Neil Diamond was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and decided to stop touring on his doctor’s advice. He stated however, that he will continue to write and record songs.
Though his fans were disappointed when Diamond cancelled his concerts in Australia and New Zealand, the refunded tickets were put to good use with the fans donating the money to Parkinson’s research, animal rescue groups and other charities as well.
Diamond’s wife and manager, Katie, expressed her gratitude for the fans as she tweeted that, “My heart is so full of joy to see this silver lining. Faith in humanity = restored,” she wrote.
The singer-songwriter himself responded to the tweet, as he wrote, “This makes me smile, thank you to everyone for your outpouring of love and support. It makes a difference.”
