Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt released a trailer of his upcoming directorial venture Sadak 2 today morning. Stunningly within a few hours the number of dislikes on the video far surpassed the number of likes on it.
Trolls were however kind enough to tender their apologies to Sanjay Dutt, one of the actors in the film who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer.
Sadak 2, a sequel to the early 1990s movie Sadak is starring Pooja Bhatt and Alia Bhatt along with Aditya Roy Kapur, the son of Bollywood producer Siddharth Roy Kapur. Bollywood has been in the eye of the storm ever since the recent death of superstar Sushant Singh Rajput.
Mahesh Bhatt was recently called for questioning by the Mumbai police following Kangana Ranaut’s interview with Republic Television news anchor Arnab Goswami. The release of the film on OTT platform when Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is trending heavily in the press and social media further irked movie lovers as a shining case of nepotism.
The trailer released by Fox Star Hindi on their YouTube channel drew 66k likes as against 748k dislikes whereas in Disney Plus Hotstar VIP, which is scheduled to premiere the film, the recorded figures were 29k likes as against 144k dislikes.
Interestingly in July, the Nepometer, an app created by Sushant Singh Rajput family had rated Sadak 2 as 98% nepotistic and fans of the late Bollywood actor had been campaigning actively on social media to not watch the film.
The entire Bhatt family has been heavily trolled in recent times with Alia Bhatt closing her comments section on the social media platform.
