Director Quentin Tarantino issued an apology recently to Roman Polanski rape victim Samantha Geimer for suggesting in a 2003 radio interview with Howard Stern that the then-teenage girl wasn't really raped and even "wanted it."

In the resurfaced interview with Stern, Tarantino was seen defending director Polanski by saying that he didn’t rape Geimer and that, it was statutory rape. He said, “I don’t believe its rape, not at 13, not for these 13-year-old party girls,” and added that Geimer “wanted to have it” and she was “down to party.”

In light of this resurfaced video, Tarantino apologized and said that his comments about her ‘cavalier’ and admitted that he was ‘ignorant and insensitive and, above all, incorrect,’ about the issue.

He further said, “Fifteen years later, I realize how wrong I was. Ms. Geimer WAS raped by Roman Polanski. When Howard brought up Polanski, I incorrectly played devil's advocate in the debate for the sake of being provocative. I didn't take Ms. Geimer's feelings into consideration and for that I am truly sorry.”

However, Polanski, now 84, has been a fugitive since fleeing to France in 1978 while awaiting sentencing for unlawful sex with a minor.
