Media Eye News Bureau: The screenwriting duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein who are credited with Sony and Marvel's hit Spider-Man: Homecoming are switching sides to helm an upcoming DC Comics film and are in talks to direct Warner Bros.' upcoming Flashpoint movie based on speedster hero the Flash.

Actor Ezra Miller will reprise his role as Barry Allen/The Flash from Justice League. The standalone film for the Flash, titled Flashpoint was kept on hold after Dope director Rick Famuyiwa left the project over creative differences. He was the second director to exit the project shortly after Seth Graham-Smith, who wrote the script but backed out of directing the film.

The duo are known for penning comedies such as Horrible Bosses and Vacation before last year's Spider-Man: Homecoming that earned more than $880 million worldwide. If they decide to direct the Flash’s solo film, they will take on a script by Joby Harold, who made changes in the original script by incorporating elements of Flashpoint, a DCU comics arc dealing with an alternate universe, thereby adding in a comic element.

However, there is currently no release date set for Flashpoint and DC and Warner Bros. are presently gearing up for the standalone release of Aquaman. Actor Jason Momoa is set to play the superhero after the character was introduced in Justice League.
