Media Eye News Bureau: Actor Zac Efron is all set to play serial killer Ted Bundy and will descend into a darker territory for his film titled ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.’ To announce the commencing of the film, Efron shared a photo of himself as the killer, on social media. The film also stars Lily Collins and John Malkovich in lead roles as well.
The film is written by Michael Werwie and the film showcases Bundy’s story from the perspective his long-time girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who went years denying the accusations against Bundy but ultimately turned him in. It was only nearing his execution that Bundy began talking about his extensive and heinous murders and it was when Kloepfer, and the rest of the world learnt of his numerous and grisly crimes. Ted Bundy admitted to having killed at least 30 people, mostly women and young girls, between 1974 and 1978 across seven states and for this, received three death sentences.
John Malcovich will play Judge Edward Cowart, who presided over the serial killer’s 1979 trial and ultimately sentenced him to death and Joe Berlinger is set to direct the film. However, with filming having only just begun, it's unclear when the film will hit theatres.
