AAP legislators protested outside the Haryana Bhawan and alleged that the Haryana government did not Delhi's share of 450 cusecs of Yamuna water daily in violation of a SC order.

The protest by AAP legislators and their supporters came after the Delhi government accused Haryana of giving political patronage to polluting industries that release ammonia in the Yamuna river which further leads to a scarcity of potable water in Delhi.

Sanjeev Jha, Aam Aadmi Party legislator from Burari stated, “The Haryana government is not complying with the water sharing agreements between the two states and is not releasing Delhi's share of Yamuna water. The state is also in violation of the Supreme Court order on this issue.”

Jha also accused the Haryana government’s behaviour of being politically motivated. The Delhi Jal Board also approached the apex court seeking directions to Haryana to release adequate water.

Yamuna is one of the main source of potable water to the residents of Delhi. Water supply in the national capital is often hit as a result of increase in the level of ammonia in the river.
