MUMBAI: The Women's wing of the Sri Shanmukhananda Sabha, Mumbai felicitated the first all women’s team of the Matunga railway station as part of the International women’s day celebration at the Sabha auditorium on March 9. Matunga station also entered the  Limca Book of Records 2018, for the first railway station in India in the suburban category to be completely staffed by women.

 

 

A total of 42 women team, led by station manager Ms. Meena Santi, are working which includes 17 booking clerks,8 ticket checkers, 5 point persons,2 announcers and other workers. They were felicitated by Dr. Smt. Hansaji  Yogendraji, director of the Yoga Institute, Mumbai.

 

 

While congratulating the women for making Matunga station as the cleanest station, the Women’s wing president Santoshi Rajan said ‘God resides where women are respected’. In India, women are well respected and are treated equal to men. Dr. Hansa Yotgendraji in her address said: “ in spirituality, there is no difference between men and women.” She has urged the people to keep themselves fit on all occasions and regular walking exercise will help them in this, she said.
