Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, a scathing attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said "the country's democracy is in jeopardy for the first time after Independence and the whole nation is experiencing an atmosphere of fear and violence." He said that for 70 years BJP has never taken the names of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel or BR Ambedkar, but today RSS and BJP are taking their names, which is the victory of Congress politics and ideology."They were not involved in the battle for freedom, but they assisted British people. Before taking the name of Gandhi, they should first acknowledge their wrongdoings and apologize to the country," he added. Speaking to a unique seminar on Mahatma Gandhi's 150th anniversary, organized by the State Congress, he said that the task facing today's generation is to protect the democracy that is at risk. "The Congress has been strengthening the democracy for 70 years, and India is respected throughout the globe.
