Mumabai: The weather bureau released a ' heavy to very high ' rain prediction for Thursday and heavy rain alert for Friday across a few locations in the town and suburbs.
An' orange alert' for Mumbai, Thane and a' red alert' warning for Palghar and Raigad was given throughout the day on Thursday. Extremely heavy rain is anticipated on Thursday for isolated spots in Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara ghat regions.
"With the creation of a profound depression over the Bay of Bengal to the north of Odisha and west coast of Bengal, rainfall is anticipated to increase across parts of the Konkan region, central Maharashtra and Vidarbha, resulting in heavy to very high rainfall in most regions and exceptionally heavy rain isolated in some regions on Thursday," said KS Hosalikar, deputy general manager, western region, India.
