Heavy rain disrupts mumba

Mumbai:Suburban train services were running at least 10-15 minutes late on all four Central Railway lines. The primary line services slowed down as the trains took longer to cross the submerged tracks owing to waterlogging between Kurla and Sion stations. Western Railway said it usually runs its services.

From some areas in the suburbs, especially across Andheri and Sion, waterlogging was reported as showers continued after 7 am. People were seen walking along highways through knee-deep water as commuters were waiting to get on crowded trains at several stations where tracks were flooded after the rains.

The weather bureau issued a Nowcast warning at 12.30am on Wednesday about intense rain over the next four hours. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that heavy storms would be isolated during the night before that.

IMD's updated Wednesday morning prediction said in the next 24 hours there will be intermittent rain with heavy showers in town and suburbs.
