MUMBAI: An earthquake of 3.5 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred around 100 kilometres north of Mumbai at 8 a.m. today, according to National Centre for Seismology. Fortunately no damage to life or property was reported. This was the fourth light intensity earthquake in the last 72 hours in Mumbai.
An earthquake of 2.7 magnitude had occurred on Saturday morning and another of 2.8 magnitude a day before on Friday. Tremors were also felt in Nasik, Maharashtra.
