IPS Officer Sanjay Barve has taken charge as Mumbai Police commissioner. He has replaced Subodhkumar Jaiswal who is appointed as new Director General of Maharashtra Police.
Sanjay Barve is a 1987 batch IPS officer and was serving as director general of Maharashtra's anti-corruption bureau (ACB). Earlier, he also served as DCP in Mumbai and as Additional DG in State Police headquarters.
Barve, hails from Konkan region of Maharashtra, will take charge on Thursday afternoon.
