Mumbai: Given the heavy rainfall forecast, schools and junior colleges will stay closed today in Mumbai, Thane and Konkan areas.
State Minister of School Education Ashish Shelar tweeted "In view of heavy rainfall forecasts, the holiday is declared as a precautionary measure for all schools and junior colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Konkan region for today 19 September 2019." Furthermore, he said that after recognizing local situations, district collectors in other areas of Maharashtra will decide whether schools will remain in the region.
