Youths protest in Mumbai

A group of students in Mumbai protested against the unavailability of jobs and the rising number of unemployment as they halted the suburban train service in the city.

Thousands of youth gathered at the railway tracks in Mumbai and accused that the Railways cheated many without conducting the recruitment as well.

They sat down at the railway tracks between the Matunga and Dadar stations at around 7 in the morning and disrupted the train services. Despite continued protests, the services have restarted. Railways informed that their first priority is to clear the protestors from the tracks while the concerned minister and the Maharashtra CM came out with explanations and took stock of the situation.

Youths took control of the railway tracks between Matunga and Dadar stations and launched an unexpected stir  under the banner of All India Acts Apprentice Association. This resulted in the cancelation of all trains between Matunga and CSMT.

The protestors alleged that the railways have not been conducting recruitments for the last four years despite many of them having already cleared the apprentice exams.
