New Delhi:Five people were detained for murdering a 91-year-old former government worker who was abducted from his South Delhi home on Saturday after being locked up in a refrigerator in an unconscious state, police said.Krishna Khosla, who also worked with the United Nations, was abducted by his domestic assistant, Kishan, and other people from his home in Greater Kailash-2 on Saturday. His domestic help was one of the five men who had been detained in the murder.
Kishan, who had been working at Mr. Khosla's residence since last year, informed the police that he had abducted and murdered his employer because he was angry about his behavior. "During his interrogation, Kishan told the police that he was fed up with the man's' taunting and abuses,' and started planning his kidnapping a month and a half ago," a police officer said.
He walked to Mr. Khosla's home on Saturday along with five other men in a tempo.
Krishna Khosla's wife, Saroj Khosla, 87, informed the police that Kishan had given them tea mixed with sedatives. After she and her family were unconscious, the accused locked Krishna Khosla in the fridge and took him from his house. Next day, Ms Khosla called up the police. She found that jewellery and cash were also missing from their home besides the refrigerator.
