Babbar Khalsa Agent Detained in Punjab. Weapons and Ammunition Seized

Chandigarh: With the arrest of a member of a terror module backed by Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), Punjab Police stated on Thursday that they had prevented potential target assassinations through an intelligence-based operation.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav posted on X that the State Special Operation Cell of Amritsar arrested an agent of US-based terrorist Harpreet Singh, aka Happy Passia, and his associate Resham Singh from Amritsar. Passia is based in Italy.

According to preliminary findings, the accused acted illegally at the behest of their handlers abroad.
According to DGP Yadav, items found in the suspected agent’s possession included a pistol, two magazines, nine bullets, and an empty bullet shell.

Three accomplices of the US-based Goldy Brar gangs and Lawrence Bishnoi were taken into custody by the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Rajasthan Police in a combined operation one day before. Gurpreet Singh, Maninder Singh, and Harcharanjit Singh were named as those who had been taken into custody. Each of the accused has a criminal record that includes incidents involving attempted murder and murder, as well as registrations under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act. Six cartridges and two handguns with a.32 caliber were also found in their possession by police teams.

The accused, who have a criminal past, were given the assignment to go after members of rival gangs by overseas managers. Those detained are Harcharanjit Singh, Maninder Singh, and Gurpreet Singh. Each of the accused has a criminal record that includes incidents involving attempted murder and murder, as well as registrations under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act. Police squads have also retrieved six pieces of ammunition and two a.32 calibre handguns.

Punjab Police established the Special Task Force Intelligence and Technical Unit (SITU) this week. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, the SITU will increase the force’s capacity to combat crime and drug trafficking in the region.
