Kolkata: According to the post-mortem report, the body of the lady doctor who was raped and killed on August 9 at the state-run R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata has 14 injuries.

Sources said the report mentioned that all the injuries were antemortem.

Multiple injuries were found in various body areas, including the head, cheeks, lips, nose, right jaw, chin, neck, left arm, left shoulder, left knee, ankle, and inside genitalia, according to the post-mortem report, according to sources.

There was a thick, white, viscid liquid inside the genitalia, blood clots in various regions of the body, and hemorrhage in the lungs. According to the sources, the report’s conclusions indicate that the victim’s death was caused by the effects of manual strangulation connected to smothering and that the victim’s manner of death was homicidal.

The sources stated that the report mentions medical proof of the victim’s genitalia being forcefully penetrated, which implies sexual assault. Samples, including blood, have been sent for additional examination.

Experts in medicine state that the report’s conclusions support the assertions made by the disgruntled medical students and junior physicians, who claimed that numerous partners were involved in the horrific rape and murder rather than a single person.

Only Sanjay Roy, a volunteer for the community, has been arrested thus far.

After being taken into custody by the Kolkata Police, he was turned over to the CBI.

The CBI took over the inquiry at the directive of the Calcutta High Court.

According to sources, the CBI detectives are working hard to identify any more accomplices in the crime by interviewing a number of people, most notably Sandip Ghosh, the controversial former principal of R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital.

Ghosh spent the last three days being questioned for 12 to 13 hours by the CBI’s Salt Lake office, which is located in the northern suburbs of Kolkata.
