Rakhi First Tied to Lord Mahakal During Bhasma Aarti; 1.25 Lakh Laddoos Offered to Deity

Ujjain: The festival of Rakshabandhan was celebrated on Monday on Shravani Purnima, at Jyotirlinga Mahakal Temple. 

Rakhi was first tied to Lord Mahakal during the Bhasma Aarti at 2.30 pm on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday. 

After that, Laddoo Mahaprasad was distributed to the devotees throughout the day.

The women from the Mahakal temple priest family had prepared a special Rakhi for the Lord.

After opening the curtain, the priests performed ‘Panchamrit Abhishek’ of Lord Mahakal. 

Thereafter, Lord Mahakal was specially adorned with gold and silver jewellery.

The Mahakal Temple priest family tied Rakhi to Lord Mahakal, and Aarti was performed by offering 1.25 lakh laddoos to the Lord.
