New Delhi: In the first session of the 17th Lok Sabha, Modi govt generated record of passing the maximum amount of bills. More than two dozen bills were launched and most of them passed by the house. However, the achievement came among the allegations of opposition parties that most of the NDA's bills were bulldozed.This is the highest performance in the opening by any government as well as the budget sessions in the last 15 years in a fresh Lok Sabha. MUMBAI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted "extremely heavy rainfall" over the next 24 hours in Mumbai while a constant rain continued to batter the city on Saturday. New Delhi: On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said he knew nothing would result from the three-member commission appointed by the Supreme Court to mediate in the Ayodhya issue. He said efforts to mediate were also made before "Mahabharat," a conflict in Indian mythology between the "Pandavas" and the "Kauravas," but they failed. A woman in Barwani in Madhya Pradesh filed a complaint with the police on Friday that her spouse threw her out of her house after three times uttered talaq, just three months after her marriage, police said. Sendhwa town's eighteen-year-old Asma, about 350 kilometers southwest of Bhopal, said in her complaint that her husband Mahin Mansoori beat her on July 24, summoned her mother, saying he would not keep her (Asma) with him. Three times he uttered talaq and threw her out of their house. Police said she claimed her husband beat her several times in her complaint and asked her parents for dowry. She also claimed that for the previous three months she had been subjected to mental and physical torture.Police have lodged an FIR under section 498A of IPC and also The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019. Police are investigating the matter and no arrest has been made so far in connection with the FIR.

Mumbai: Police recorded a case against four unknown individuals on Friday for supposedly raping a 19-year-old lady on her birthday in the Chembur region of Mumbai on Friday. The police have recorded and moved a ' Zero FIR ' to the police station in Chunabhatti. After her birthday festivities, the lady was on her way from her friend's house on July 7 when four males supposedly raped her. She did not inform anyone about the incident for weeks and kept crying, according to the family of the woman.
