Maha Governor holds meeting with VCs

The Governor of Maharashtra Vidyasagar Rao today held his maiden interactive meeting with Vice Chancellors of all State Universities at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai. 

Addressing the meeting, the Governor said, Universities in Maharashtra have excellent reputation for quality education. He said, it is the bounden duty of all Vice Chancellors to maintain the same. 

The Governor said, the Prime Minster of India has called for laying focus on skill development and empowerment of youths. In this connection, he asked the Vice Chancellors to work on further improving education standard and to focus on skill development of youths.

Referring to his own graduation from Nanded, the Governor said being a student of Maharashtra himself, it will be his endeavor to discharge his duty as Chancellor ';more efficiently';.

Vice Chancellors briefed the Governor about the achievements and vision of their respective universities. Vice Chancellors of 18 State Universities and Pro Vice Chancellors of 5 Universities were present at the meeting.
