European healthcare and diagnostic service provider Medicover Global opened a 250-bed hospital in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh (AP). Medicover Global will expand its operations in Nellore with Medicover Oncology Institute, a 100-bed cancer cure facility.

The company revealed that it has invested Rs.700 crores in India and is committed to invest an additional Rs.300 crores towards its upcoming project in the AP town. Medicover Global CEO Fredrik Ragmark in a statement said that the company will bring best-in-class technology, capital, world-class infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and other elite services to deliver quality, process oriented, and patient-centric healthcare in India.

India’s pharmaceutical sector is evolving and will witness significant growth in the coming years and the company by investing in India has made the right decision. Medicover has set up hospitals in Hyderabad, Kurnool and Vishakhapatnam in addition to Nellore, increasing its footprint in the Andhra-Telangana region. 

Medicover India Chairman Anil Krishna pointed out that the group is not just pumping funds but also bringing advanced technology and processes for uplifting the healthcare sector in India.
