Washington: Oregon State declares emergency on severe flooding at a number of counties. The emergency will effect for next 30 days at Umatilla, Union and Wallowa in northeastern Oregon. Severe flooding of the state has caused evacuation of residents, landslides and closure of state highways.

On Friday Xinhua news reports "Fast-moving, severe floods have required the evacuation of residences and shut down critical roads in northeastern Oregon." Widespread damaged caused at Umatilla County by flooding tributaries of Umatilla River and was hardly hit by the flood.

Reports say 200 about structures were submerged and 45 residents in the riverside are evacuated.  Between Hermiston and Ontario the Interstate 84 highway at westbound traffic is blocked for about 320 km due to heavy floods. Quoting National Weather Service reports says the flood was worst in the history of eastern Oregon City.

To manage the flood circumstances Governor Brown offered total support of State Police Forces, Oregon National Guard and government agencies to local recovery from the condition.
