Chateauroux (France): Chateauroux, France: On Saturday, Indian shooters Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema were unable to advance to the men’s 10m Air Pistol finals at the Paris Olympics.

After finishing ninth in the qualification round, just behind Germany’s Robin Walter, Sarabjot almost missed the final position. After 60 shots, the Indian and Walter matched with 577 points each, but the German advanced to the finals by hitting one inner-10 more than the Indian.

Cheema, the other Indian shooter, came in at number eighteen in the qualification round with 574 and 17 inner 10s.

Likewise, Elavenil Valarivan-Sandeep Singh and Ramita Jindal-Arjun Babuta could not advance to the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team final earlier in the day.

The second Indian team, consisting of Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh, finished in 12th place with 626.3 points, while Ramita and Arjun fired a total of 628.7 in a sequence of 30 shots for each to finish.
