Coronavirus has entered US shores with Solano County in California recording the first possible COVID-19 case. “Solano County Public Health officials received confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that a Solano county resident has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and has possibly acquired the disease through community transmission,” the county said in a statement.
It was reported that the suspected patient had not travelled recently or got in contact with anyone carrying the virus. His exposure is still unknown. The county is taking the issue seriously to safeguard the residents in Solano County. However, as the virus continues to spread globally there could be more cases in future.
The county’s Public Health Service has activated its Department Operations Center to step up its efforts to identify, screen and follow up on individuals exposed to the virus.
