Two women, under the age of 50, have claimed that they visited the Sabarimala temple early morning today, though there is no official confirmation from the temple authorities and police officers. Bindu and Kanakadurga, who had attempted to enter the temple last time, but failed, said that they have visited the hilltop shrine.
The Devaswom Board president A. Padmakumar has said that the board will go through the CCTV visuals to have a clarification on the issue while also asked the police to confirm whether the women have entered the temple or not.
Meanwhile the ladies had approached the police for security on yesterday, whereas the forces said that there are some issues in providing security. So they had decided to take the risk themselves. But sources said that the police has given limited security to them. Initial reports suggest that the two ladies started the trek from the base Pamba around 1 am, reached the shrine around 3 am and returned back soon after their darshan.
