New Delhi: The army was deployed in Tripura and Assam as a heated debate rages in today's Rajya Sabha over the divisive Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. The deployment comes in the midst of ongoing violent clashes over the Citizenship Bill in the North East, which aims to make it easier for non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh to become Indian citizens.
