Astrologers will be consulted for finding an auspicious day for beginning the construction of a grand temple for Lord Ram in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s former principal secretary, Nripendra Misra is the chairman of the committee for construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, confirming the close involvement of Prime Minister’s office.

Nripendra Misra was appointed at the first meeting of the newly constituted Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust. Misra’s experience as an official in Uttar Pradesh including his experience of working with former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh will be useful in steering the project which is sacred for the Sangh parivar.

The project was initially scheduled to commence on May 2, the birthday of Lord Ram, however, due to logistical constraints the trust will now have to arrive at a new date in consultation with astrologers.
