Media Eye News Bureau: Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is set to meet Punjab CM Amarinder Singh in an attempt at pacifying him over the issue of his country’s alleged abetment of Sikh radicalism.
Singh tweeted, “Look forward to meeting Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau in Amritsar on Wednesday. I’m hopeful that this meeting will help strengthen the close Indo-Canadian business ties as well as the deep-rooted people-to-people relations between our two countries.”
The Punjab CM had refused to meet the Canadian defence minister Harjit Sajjan last year AND accused Indian-origin members of Trudeau’s cabinet of maintaining links with Sikh separatists and of being sympathisers of Sikh radicals as well.
