The Delhi government has allowed police to prosecute former Jawaharlal Nehru University Student’s Union President, Kanhaiya Kumar as well as two others for a sedition case dating back to 2016.
Earlier this year the police had filed a charge sheet against Kumar and former JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya. Police have said that the three were leading a procession that was raising slogans against India at an event in the campus on February 9, 2016.
All the accused will now face trial for the charges against them.
