Parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) witnessed a dust storm. The temperature came down by 16.6 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature was 36.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. The rain brought it down to 21 degrees Celsius.

Visibility dropped and caused vehicles on the streets to come to a standstill momentarily.

Arrivals and departures at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport were delayed up to one hour due to the sudden weather change as well as 24 flights were diverted out of Delhi.

The Centre had forecast thunderstorms and light rainfall in the capital due to a western disturbance approaching Jammu and Kashmir and rising temperatures on Friday.
