Patidar leader Hardik Patel met West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and stated that all opposition parties should come together before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He also expressed that the West Bengal chief minister should be the face of the united front.
He further compared Banerjee to Indira Gandhi and asserted that he would visit Bengal and campaign for her in 2019 as well. He added that the CM extended an invitation to him to join the Trinamool Congress and lead the party in Gujarat for the same. He also said that he also requested her to visit Gujarat and enlighten the women there.
Banerjee on her part was impressed with Patel as she said, “He is an extremely bright young chap and politically conscious. I told him that he should join politics. If he does, I will give him all cooperation and support.”
