A 22-year-old lady has died after she was doused to fire close to Hyderabad by a previous partner who had purportedly a fixation on her and had been stalking her.
Sandhya Rani, a secretary for an organization in the Secunderabad region, was en route home from work around 6.45 pm when Karthik went ahead a motorbike and halted to speak her. They had met around two years back.
They were talking heatedly at the spot around 10 km from Hyderabad when Karthik all of a sudden took out a can and poured lamp fuel on Sandhya. He set her ablaze and headed out before his act could attract attention, the police said.
On detecting the young lady on fire and shouting for help, individuals hurried to her and put out the fire. But Sandhya had endured 60 percent burns.
Investigations have uncovered that Karthik had been pursuing and pestering Sandhya for quite a long time.
He has supposedly told the police that she didn't respond to his sentiments.
