Media Eye News Bureau: India celebrates its 69th Republic Day today and showcased its military prowess and cultural diversity at the 69th Republic Day parade at the Rajpath in the presence of 10 ASEAN leaders.
The parade generally features tableaux from 14 states and union territories and nine central ministries.
However, a tableau by All India Radio featured a series of 23 tableaux at the parade and featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monthly address ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as well. An Income Tax Department tableau about special anti-black money drive launched post-demonetisation was also introduced.
The major attraction of the parade was the armed forces and marching contingents. Several aircraft, military vehicles, and weapons were also displayed during the parade.
The parade had a team of 113 Border Security Force (BSF) women also named Seema Bhavani, who performed 16 types of stunts on motorcycles. They received a standing ovation for the same.
