Karti Chidambaram, son of former Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, got an interim relief from the Delhi High Court today as the court directed the Enforcement Directorate to stall the arrest till March 20 i.e till the next hearing of the case.
Former Union Minister and Karti's lawyer Salman Khurshid had said they had asked the Supreme Court, and now the High Court, to cancel the summons by the ED because they anticipated "sequential arrests", reports NDTV.
Karti has been under the CBI custody since his arrest on February 28. He was arrested on charges of alleged money laundering and reportedly accepting bribes to divert laws in favour of INX Media, a claim raised by jailed Indrani Mukerjea.
