Lankan woman offered dars

A 47 year old Sri Lankan woman has entered the Sabarimala temple and offered darshan to the shrine of Lord Ayyappa amid widespread protests across the Kerala after two ladies below 50 offered darshan two days back.

The top government officials and the police officers have confirmed her entrance on yesterday night and cleared the confusion after there were rumours that the woman was not able to enter the temple. Sasikala, 47 years old, comes from Sri Lanka, earlier told that she was denied darshan by the police after reaching near the 18 golden steps.

Sasikala is the third woman to enter the hilltop shrine after the Supreme Court ordered the end of a decades-old ban on women of menstrual age entering the shrine. Earlier, two women Bindu and Kanaka Durga in their 40s, made history after failed on their first attempt to enter the Temple on 24 December.

"I did not get darshan. They did not let me go… I have a medical certificate .They have a 41-day fasting rule; I have done the 41-day fast.", She showed a medical report which reports that  her uterus was removed.
